Green Accreditation:
Tim Ellis, Owner/President of T.W.Ellis LLC is a LEED AP. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) Accredited Professionals have the expertise required to design a building to LEED standards and to coordinate the documentation process that is necessary for LEED certification.
The LEED Green Building rating system evaluates environmental performance from a whole building perspective over a building life cycle, providing a definitive standard for what constitutes a "Green Building".
The rating system is organized into five environmental categories: Sustainable site, Water efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resource, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation & Design Process.
It is a performance-oriented system where credits are earned for satisfying criterion designed to address specific environmental impacts inherent in the design, construction, and operations and maintenance of buildings. Different levels of green (certified, silver, gold, and platinum) building certifications are awarded based on the total credits earned.
The intent of LEED is to assist in the creation of high performance, durable, healthful, affordable and environmentally sound buildings.
Tim Ellis, Owner/President is an NAHB Accredited Green Building Verifier. A verifier verifies that homes across the country meet the criteria of the national green building certification (NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines). This is accomplished by confirming with the builder that the appropriate home scoring method/tool correctly shows the points claimed by the builder and that both parties understand the level (Bronze, Silver, or Gold of green building certification that is being sought by the builder).
Green Certifications:
Tim Ellis is a CGP (Certified Green Professional). The Certified Green Professional designation is another way building professionals can become educated in, and involved with Green Building. The Certified Green Professional certification sets standards on how green homes provide buyers with lower energy costs and higher value, and it includes strategies for incorporating green-building principles into homes without driving up the construction cost.
