Baltimore Custom Decks For At Home Wedding Ceremonies

Friday, May 10th, 2013

Are you planning an at home wedding ceremony?

If yes, the perfect location for an at home wedding ceremony would be a custom deck.

Here at T.W. Ellis we understand that a remodel Baltimore or remodel Harford for an at home wedding is never easy.

Planning a backyard wedding celebration needs to be a step by step process.

The home will be where you’ll make your first memories as a couple. A custom deck installed to a beautiful lakeside home or country cottage is the perfect scenary for a wedding ceremony.

During the summer you will want to hold this special ceremony outdoors. The backyard is the best area for guests to be for the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception.

If you want a great at home wedding, you need to be very organized.

How should the custom deck be designed for your at home wedding?

1. The custom deck should be spacious to prevent overcrowding of guests. Never mistaken an overcrowded space as a cozy space for being at home ceremonies.

2. Use the custom deck stair case as a predicator of where you should run the aisle for the wedding ceremony.

3. Position the custom deck near the kitchen or living room area for easy indoor and outdoor space access for waiters and guests alike.

As for the backyard, have the lawn manciured for your big wedding ceremony – this includes reseeding, replanting, and sodding the lawn.

Any plants or flowers you want displayed for the at home wedding ceremony should be planted in advance.

Some popular at home wedding floral arrangements are tulips, daffodils, and gerbera daisies.

What are the benefits of custom decks for home wedding ceremonies and overall deck use?

The custom deck design by the T.W. Ellis green remodeler will conform perfectly with the structure of your home property for a seamless look and high functionality.

Green Builder: What Decking Materials Are Best for Decks Baltimore And Harford?

Friday, March 15th, 2013

Are you home remodeling and want to enhance the quality of your backyard space? If yes, we highly recommend having a deck built.

But what type of deck should you have – wood or plastic?

This article will provide you the best remodel Baltimore and remodel Harford deck building tips for your home improvement project.

As a home builder Baltimore or a home builder Harford, it is important to make a decision on what type of decking material is best for the home.

Right now, plastic lumber is a growing trend for remodel Baltimore and remodel Harford projects.

As a green builder, T.W. Ellis highly recommends plastic lumber for modern day homes but choosing this material for your home will all depend on your deck color desires, board size needs, and maintenance requirements.

If you’re looking for authentic wood decking, a green remodeler in Harford or a green remodeler in Baltimore can provide you the most environmentally friendly lumber and quality decking installation.

Authentic wood decking can be pressure treated lumber, redwood and cedar or tropical hardwoods.

The majority of modern day under-structure frames are made from pressure treated (PT) decking materials – posts, beams, joists…the whole nine yards.

PT decking is very affordable.

It is important to acknowledge no wood decking is completely maintenance free. You will have to apply wood preservatives every now and then. And occasionally give your deck a good power wash.

As for composite decking (plastic lumber), it is a very weather and stain resistant deck. It is also very low maintenance because you will never have to sand, scrape, refinish or stain it. It will not crack, warp or splinter.

T,W, Ellis as a green remodeler in Harford and green remodeler in Baltimore, can rebuild that old deck or install a new decking and railings for your home.

Decks Baltimore and Decks Harford should never appear old /shabby or be a maintenance nightmare. Decks Baltimore and Decks Harfod should be in good shape – decking, rails and stirs.

T.W. Ellis is a Master Deck professional by the North American Deck & Railing Association For Understanding The Existing Structure.

Decks Baltimore: The Benefits Of Hiring A Green Builder

Tuesday, February 12th, 2013

Are you looking to build the best Baltimore deck around? If yes, you have to address durability, style and functionality in your Baltimore deck design.

You can have all this and more for Decks Baltimore when you hire a qualified Green Remodeler. This article will provide tips on hiring a quality Baltimore Deck builder as well as a few good design tips.

Building Decks Baltimore is no D-I-Y job. Deck construction projects need to be well executed- from proper footing to sturdy structure and contact points.

This will allow you to enjoy a wonderful entertainment area while assuring the safety of occupants on deck.

Here are some tips on hiring a good green builder:

  1. Hire a green remodeler in Baltimore that will create a deck layout for your home.
  2. Ask whether one or two stories will be best for your deck. Decide whether stairs will be built to your deck.
  3. Have a deck railing built
  4. Have specialty features incorporated into the deck design such as built-in benches and electrical plugging.
  5. Always interview your Baltimore deck contractor prior to the start of your project. The green builder should provide you an estimate of how long the project will take, a list of projects completed, and proof of local license.

Once these steps are completed, you can fully focus on your Baltimore deck design.

One way to create a stylish Baltimore deck is to add a pergola. With a well designed pergola deck, your home value will automatically increase because the outdoors structure accents the home’s natural surrounding, makes the backyard more inviting, increases outdoors functionality and provides a great space to enjoy fresh air.

T.W. Ellis highly recommends installing retractable panels for the pergola to provide cover during spring and summer rain showers or shade during sweltering hot days.

Enjoy your pergola Baltimore Deck today, by hiring a T.W. Ellis Green remodeler in Baltimore.

What Should A Homeowner Know About Wood Deck Design?

Monday, August 27th, 2012

Are you considering installing a wooden deck to your home property? If yes, T.W Ellis is here to help you choose a stylish wood deck design.

You can do color changes and make your residential deck blend properly with your home’s scenery.

Here are a few things you should consider when designing a wooden deck:

  1. How will you use your deck? A deck can be used in a variety of ways. Based on your usage you can estimate how big or small of a deck you will need. Decks can be used to entertain guests or a place for you and your family to relax. You should always look into accessibility and safety if children, elderly people or disabled people will be using the deck regularly.
  2. How will you make your deck fit with your home’s architectural style? To help you accomplish this task find out whether your home style is sleek, contemporary, or a rustic classic.
  3. Know Your Budget. It is important you know the cost of the materials that will be used to make your deck. For example, composite wood material is less expensive to use than natural timber. Composite wood is also easier to maintenance.
